Dispersant K850

DISPERSANT K 850 is an APEO and Formaldehyde-free, highly effective dispersant for anionic pigments and extenders in aqueous systems. The product is compatible with all common synthetic emulsions, creates little foam, and is effective in a wide pH range. It enhances storage stability in highly filled emulsion paints and helps avoid thickening.

DISPERSANT K 850 is generally added to emulsion paints in concentrations of 0.1 – 0.5% calculated on pigments/extenders. The required quantity depends on the type of pigments/extenders used and should be determined case by case. For combined additions with polyphosphates (e.g., Calgon N), mixing proportions of 1:2 to 2:1 have proven effective. If more than 1% DISPERSANT K 850 is added, the water sensitivity of the film should be tested. DISPERSANT K 850 is typically added before pigments/extenders, but it can also be added later as a post-additive if necessary.

• The product should be stored in original packaging or clean, covered, suitable containers at normal temperatures (5 – 40°C) for up to 12 months.
• Protect the product from freezing. If crystallized, allow it to thaw by heating and stir well before use.
• Avoid exposure to extremes of heat and cold.
• Follow special signs and instructions indicated on original packaging carefully.
