DISPERSANT DMA 40 is an APEO-free, highly effective liquid dispersant for pigments and extenders in aqueous systems. It is compatible with all common synthetic emulsions, creates little foam, and is effective in a wide pH range. DISPERSANT DMA 40 is particularly favorable for storage stability in highly filled emulsion paints and helps avoid thickening.

DISPERSANT DMA 40 is typically added to emulsion paints in amounts of 0.1–0.3%, calculated based on pigments/extenders. The exact required quantity depends on the type of pigments/extenders used and should be determined on a case-by-case basis. DISPERSANT DMA 40 can be used alone or combined with polyphosphates (e.g., Calgon N) in mixing proportions of 1:2 to 2:1. If more than 1% is added, testing is recommended to check for increased water sensitivity in the film. In the emulsion paint procedure, DISPERSANT DMA 40 is usually added before pigments/extenders are introduced, but it can also be applied later if necessary.
The product should be stored in original packaging or in clean, covered, suitable containers at normal temperatures (5°C – 40°C) for a maximum of 12 months. Protect from freezing. If crystallized, allow to thaw by heating and stir well before use. Avoid exposure to extremes of heat and cold, and follow any specific signs or instructions indicated on original packaging.
