BRB Siloen® 696 is water dilutable solvent-free silane emulsion.

BRB Siloen® 696 is specially designed to be used as:

• Water repellent liquid admixture for non-load bearing concrete based products.
• High quality impregnating and priming of alkaline mineral surface

• High Alkali resistance
• Dilutable with water
• Solvent-free
• Provides hydrophobic properties
• No loss in water vapor permeability

• Superior water repellency especially for material with higher alkalinity (> pH 9)
• Easy to use
• Good depth of penetration
• Long lasting water repellence
• Doesn’t alter the aspect of treated material
• Improved resistance to freeze-thaw de-icing salt stress
• No significant impact on the concrete rheology (when used as admixture)
• Provide good adhesion of paints (when used as a primer)

When used as water resisting admixture for non-load bearing concrete-based manufactured products as well as mortars for exterior application, BRB Siloen® 696 must be added directly in the cement mixer when preparing the mortar. Typical dosage is in between 4.5 to 6 liter of product (as it is) per 1 cubic meter of hydrated mortar either 0.3 to 1 % by weight on weight of dry cement.

To achieve homogenous dispersion in the mass, BRB Siloen® 696 should be diluted in the processing water.

It is recommended not exceeding too much the above dosage because in front of a better water repellence a loss in mechanical properties might result as possible drawback.

When used as impregnating hydrophobic agent for load bearing high quality concrete, BRB Siloen® 696 BRB Siloen® 696 must be used undiluted. Applicators are recommended to wait almost 4 weeks after the production, prior to treat the surface, to leave concrete achieving a complete setting. Moreover, superficial residual moisture of the concrete should not exceed 4%.

Apply BRB Siloen® 696 by flow coating at low pressure in two coats wet-on wet. For a more even coverage a smooth roller can be used afterward.
