Dispersant ASP42

Dispersant ASP 42 is an APEO and Formaldehyde free, highly effective dispersant for anionic pigments and extenders in aqueous systems. The product is compatible with all common synthetic emulsions, creates little foam and is effective in a wide pH range.

• Appearance: Light to dark blue-green clear liquid
• Composition: Ammonium salt of polycarboxylic acid
• Solid Content: 40 ± 1%
• Viscosity 25°C LVT 2/60: 100 – 400 cps
• Density at 20°C: Approx. 1.18 g/ml
• pH: 6.5 – 7.5
• Solubility in Water: Soluble in Water
• Storage Stability: Protect from freezing

• Low amount of dispersing agent is needed to have efficient dispersion of pigments and extenders
• Short grinding time required
• Excellent storage stability of finished products

Dispersant ASP 42 is generally added in emulsion paints with 0,1 – 0,5% calculated on pigments/ extenders. The actual quantity required essentially depends on thetype of the pigments/ extenders used and should be determined from case to case (determination of the optimum quantity of the dispersing agent). Dispersant ASP 42 can be added alone orcombined with nonionic compatibilizers. If more than 1% of Dispersant ASP 42 is added, it should be tested whether thewater sensitivity of the film increases. In em ulsion paint procedure, Dispersant ASP 42 normally has to be added before addition of pigments/ extenders.
