Charity Initiative 2024 Round Up
As we approach the end of 2024, we’re filled with pride and gratitude reflecting on The Rakem Group’s charitable efforts throughout the year. Thanks to your support and our incredible team’s dedication, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve donated over £100,000 to numerous local charities and causes that are making a real difference.
This year, our contributions have supported organisations such as:
- Changing Lives at Carrington
- Bury Cancer Support
- Lagans Foundation
- Bolton Neonatal Unit
- Moorland Home
- Sapphire Partnership
- Red Door
- Bury Hospice
- Restoring Hope
- Trinity Foodbank
- Bleakholt
This includes over 30 local charities supported, over 100 hours spent volunteering, and over 300 miles run to raise money for charity.
New Milestones: Proud Silver Patrons of Bury Hospice
This year, we also reached a significant milestone by becoming Silver Patrons of Bury Hospice, enhancing our support for their compassionate mission. As the inaugural silver patron, we are proud to be playing a vital role in strengthening Bury Hospice’s ability to provide essential care to patients and support their family members – impacting local lives immensely.
Nina Camplin, Corporate Fundraiser at Bury Hospice said “By becoming the first silver patron, Rakem group exemplifies how local businesses can demonstrate support and heartfelt community care.”
As keen supporters of local causes, our team regularly participates in various hospice events, and recently some of our team members dedicated a day helping maintain Bury Hospice’s award-winning gardens.
Employee Volunteering: Giving Back with Heart
But our commitment didn’t stop at donations. We encouraged all our staff to contribute their time and talents with two full days of volunteering each. Here are just a few of the ways our team got involved:
- Gardening at Bury Hospice
- Supporting Macmillan and Barnardo’s Events
- Participating in the Bury Hospice Twilight Walk
- Volunteering at Bury 10K
- Organising a Charity Football Match
- Participating in 50 Miles in 30 Days for Alzheimer’s UK
As we celebrate these successes, we’re looking ahead to an even brighter, more impactful 2025. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.
