BRB Siloen® WA 265

BRB Siloen® WA 265 is an organo-modified trisiloxane. It provides outstanding surface tension reduction and super spreading properties to any aqueous solution.

Surface wetting additive for coatings and inks. Silicone wetting agent for waterborne and radiation-curable coatings, inks, and overprint varnishes.

Even at low dosage levels, BRB Siloen® WA 265 is effective on difficult-to-wet substrates, including wood and plastics. The recommended addition level is between 0.05% to 0.4% as supplied based on the total formulation.

Traditional silicone additives often bring undesired modifications to slip properties, but this is not the case with BRB Siloen® WA 265, which has little or no impact on the surface coefficient of friction.

The chemical structure of BRB Siloen® WA 265 is susceptible to hydrolysis, with a consequent reduction in wetting properties during aging. Whenever possible, try to buffer the pH of the coating around 7 to minimize this phenomenon. Always assess trials to check aged performance stability.
