In masonry paints, 1.0% to 5% (typically 2% to 3%) of BRB Siloen® HPA 406 as supplied is recommended, calculated on the total formulation of the paint. It is suitable for silicone resin paints, silicate paints, highly filled emulsion coatings, whitewash emulsions, and interior paints.
BRB Siloen® HPA 406 might be added to the grind before the let-down stage or as a post addition.
BRB Siloen® HPA 406 can also be thinned to 2-5% solids in conjunction with a waterborne polymer dispersion to be used as a water-repellent façade primer.
When used as a water repellent for insulating materials (in-plant treatment of mineral fibers), BRB Siloen® HPA 406 is effective at low concentrations and should be diluted 1:100 parts by weight.
BRB Siloen® HPA 406 can be used as supplied or thinned with water before use. For prolonged storage of the dilution, deionized water is recommended, and additional preservative may be required.
