BRB Siloen® DA 293

BRB Siloen® DA 293 is a silicone-based antifoam emulsion for water-based architectural coatings and aqueous adhesives.

• Silicone defoamer for High PVC (60-85) emulsion systems
• Silicone defoamer for any aqueous adhesive dispersion

• High efficiency at very low addition levels
• Easy to incorporate

• Efficient foam control without affecting the appearance of the coating
• Recommended for high solid waterborne coatings (PVC 60 to 85), where it can be a cost-effective alternative to mineral oil-based defoamers

BRB Siloen® DA 293 can be added in a single step at any time during the production process, but it is preferable to divide the total amount. Use 2/3 in the mill base, and the remaining amount can be added during the let-down stage or to the finished formulation. When added post-production, ensure appropriate shear force for a homogeneous dispersion.

Typical addition levels range from 0.1% to 0.6% by weight as supplied, rarely up to 0.8%. Optimal dosage must be determined through laboratory testing.
