BRB Siloen® SR 619 may be used as received or diluted prior to use. Dilution of the material prior to use in solvent is recommended. Suitable solvents include White Spirit 130/175, White Spirit 145/200, other petroleum hydrocarbons, and low aromatic hydrocarbons. The solvent should have a boiling range of 140-190°C and an evaporation number of 30-90. Normal dilution in weight ratio ranges from 1:11 up to 1:15.
In case of possible contact with solvent-sensitive materials, BRB Siloen® SR 619 can also be diluted in alcohol, provided it is totally anhydrous. Usable alcohols are ethanol or isopropanol. In this case, BRB Siloen® SR 619 should be diluted 1:12.
After dilution, BRB Siloen® SR 619 can be applied by flooding, spraying, brushing, or rolling until the substrate is saturated. Multiple layers are recommended to achieve the best performance; wet-on-wet application is the best-recommended procedure. The substrate must be dry and free of significant cracks (maximum 0.3 mm).
BRB Siloen® SR 619 provides early water resistance; however, the best performance builds up after 1 week to 10 days from application.
