BRB SILOEN®HPA 406

BRB Siloen® HPA 406 is a non-ionic, APEQ free, solventless, water-thinnable, 55% solid aqueous emulsion of a modified polysiloxane.

BRB Siloen® HPA 406 is an additive used in masonry coating, agueous primers to enhance water repellency.

• Enhance water repellency and beading effect without reducing water vapor oermeability
• Solvent free
• Suitable for many waterborne paint systems or plasters (ex. Acrylics, Silicate, Siloxane etc)
• Suitable as water repellent primers on material substrate as well as hydrophobing agent for insulating material

• Provides superior hydrophobicity and low water absorption to silicone based masonry paints and cementbased mortars
• Enhance beading effect and minimize dirty pick up
• Improves processability and anti-blocking characteristics in paints

Typical Data

In masonry paints, 1,0% to 5% (typically 2% to 3%) of BRB Siloen® HPA 406 as supplied calculated on total formulation of the paint. BRB Siloen® HPA 406 is suitable for silicone resin paints, silicate paints, highly filled emulsion coatings, whitewash emulsions and interior paints.

BRB Siloen® HPA 406 might be added to the grind before the let-down either in post addition. BRB Siloen® HPA 406 can also be thinned to 2-5% solids in conjunction with a waterborne polymer dispersion to be used as a water repellant fagade primer.

When used as water-repellent for insulating materials (in plant treatment of mineral fibres) BRB Siloen® HPA 406 is effective at low concentration and should be diluted 1:100 parts by weight.

BRB Siloen® HPA 406 can be used as such or be thinned with water before use. For prolonged storage of the dilution, deionized water is recommended and additional preservative may be required.
